課程概述

After understanding the basic theories of economic integration, this course investigates into the development of economic integration in the whole world, putting emphasize on the origin, development, structure, major practices, challenges, and problems of the European Union. Free trade agreements signed by China will be carefully studied and the issue of ECFA (Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement) between Taiwan and China will also be discussed. Selected chapters from a PTA handbook will be presented orally by students to understand the issues studied by professional economists. The relationship between FTA and WTO will be analyzed as well. 

課程目標
This course aims to make students understand the theories of economic integration and its practice in the real world. The students should be able to evaluate the economic effects of free trade agreement (FTA), customs union and monetary union, after taking this course. 
課程要求
Students should be equipped with the basic training of Economics or be able to catch up the related economic knowledge.
